VMC Part 2 – Employment & Education

Welcome to Vaughan’s Emerging Downtown, the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC)

“As one of Canada’s largest master planned communities, the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) is an emerging downtown poised to be the financial, innovation and cultural centre of Vaughan.”

My vision for the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) always comprised of a vibrant modern centre for residents and businesses encompassing all amenities of an urban lifestyle, including inspiring multi-use office towers, residences, open green space and pedestrian squares, shopping areas and restaurants, and walking and cycling paths.

Continuing with part 2 of this 4-part series, I will be looking at employment and education in the VMC in this section.

The VMC is quickly becoming an employment hub housing some of Canada’s and the world’s most recognizable brands and employers, as well as the first university in York Region!

With Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) subway access and a well-serviced regional public transportation terminal, the VMC allows for flawless commuter access to and from several institutions and places of employment, and will prove to be an essential economic, cultural, and educational centre, providing jobs and economic stimulation for the City of Vaughan and York Region.

At the heart of our emerging downtown is the VMC Mobility Hub with subway, rapid bus, and local bus service to Toronto, Markham, Brampton, and across Vaughan.nThe VMC also has direct access to the main transportation arteries in Ontario: Highway 400, Highway 407 Express Toll Route (ETR) and Highway 7. And if you are a frequent flyer, Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada’s busiest and largest airport, is just a 15-minute drive away.
