Every year, the City of Vaughan hosts a series of Environmental Days in each Ward for all residents. Environmental days provide an excellent opportunity for residents to demonstrate their commitment to environmental sustainability in our community.

Come out to learn about the services Public Works staff provide and how we’re improving connections in our environment. Your whole family will also enjoy activities, including:
  • Mulch Giveaway – FREE mulch – 3 Bag Limit
  • Free Exchange of Damaged City-Issued Blue Boxes and Green Bins or Purchase NEW Blue Boxes, Kitchen Containers, Green Bins and Composters
  • Green Directions Vaughan – Learn more about the City of Vaughan’s sustainability initiatives, and the ways in which you can be involved!
  • Free Electronic Recycling; Sponsored by Ontario Electronic Stewardship- Drop off your unwanted and old electronic equipment.
  • Canadian Diabetes Association’s Clothesline Drive – Donate gently used clothing, all cloth-based items, bedding, sleeping bags, belts and ties, yarn blankets, drapes, pillows, and footware
  • Visit the Plug’n Drive booth to learn about electric cars and their environmental and economic benefits! Jump in and enjoy a free electric vehicle ‘Ride and Drive’ opportunity!
  • Water Quality and Compliance department –  learn more about water quality, water leak detection, water conservation and more!
