City of Vaughan Celebrates with Flag Raising Ceremony

On Sunday, October 2, 2016, the City of Vaughan celebrated the Inaugural Flag Raising to commemorate the 67th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

In Vaughan, we have enjoyed the wonderful relationship that Canada has established with China. The recent visit of our Prime Minister Trudeau to China and the reciprocated visit of China’s Premier Li Keqian, it has certainly opened up more accessible dialogue on trade and investment, tourism, education and cultural exchanges. Vaughan will continue to forge forward with the already established relationship with the various municipalities and hope to strengthen those relationships.

Thank you to Dr. Ken Ng and the members of the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Vaughan and the Federation of Chinese Canadians in York Region for organizing this event, including the traditional lion eye sitting ceremony. A special thank you to Consul General Xue Bing and his wife, Madame Zhao Jun for attending this inaugural event. We have enjoyed the wonderful cooperation with the consulate over the years and look forward to continue working with them. Below are a few photos of the flag raising ceremony.
