Come Celebrate Chinese New Year 2016 at Vaughan City Hall!

2141 Major Mackenzie DriveOf all the traditional Chinese festivals that are celebrated around the world, the Chinese New Year is perhaps the most elaborate, colourful and important in the Chinese community. It is a time to congratulate each other on having completed another year, and a time to part with the old and welcome in the new.

The 2016 Vaughan Chinese New Year Celebration to welcome in the Year of the Monkey will be held on Sunday, January 31 at Vaughan City Hall.

Held in partnership with the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Vaughan (FCCV), the celebration will include an Official Welcome from Mayor and Members of Council, a traditional lion dance eye-dotting ceremony, cultural performances and traditional treats. There will be fun activities for all to enjoy including traditional Chinese calligraphy, paper crafting, Chinese Chess and Marbles, a Chopstick Challenge and much more!
